Internships One of the best ways to get practical work experience is to do an internship at an accounting firm or in an accounting department of a company. While many accounting firms that offer internships have the most positions available during tax season (February - April), some do have internship opportunities in the summer and fall as well. The individual firm and its needs determine this.

Public Accounting Firm Contacts Important: before you start an internship, be sure to check with the career center and/or internship office at your school to make sure that you will be following the proper procedure that they need you to follow. Some schools allow for paid internships during your enrollment, while others are for college credit only, so it is crucial that you go through the correct channels at your school before committing to any type of internship.
